Deuteronomy 8:5-7

⁵ Be convinced in your heart that as a father disciplines his son, so the Lord your God disciplines you. ⁶ Observe the commands of the Lord your God by walking in his ways and by fearing^[a] him, ⁷ because the Lord your God is bringing you to a good land—a land with rivers and deep springs flowing to the valleys and hills.
